Good morning
Not a huge amount of new information to share but did want to note a few items that we're working on related to the Center Zoning project:
- As you may know, there are two Warrant Articles scheduled for March 4 Special Town Meeting, Section 10 (Belmont Center Overlay) and Section 10A (Center Gateway Overlay). These bylaws include a "sunrise" provision meaning they cannot be "useable" until November 2026
- Two additional bylaw amendments are slated for the Annual Town Meeting: Section 7.3 (Design and Site Plan Review) and Section 5,5 (Construction Management)
- Section 5.6 (Transportation Demand Management) will be brought to a Fall 2026 Special Town Meeting.
- The Planning Board will also be developing additional criteria related to site plan review process in a set of Rules and Regulations (R&Rs)
- We expect to be able to share initial drafts of Section 7.3, Section 5.5, and R&Rs sometime in January.
- The Public Comment Form on the project website is still active.
