Firefighter Presents a Tourniquet Option on the Arm of Another FirefighterThe Belmont Fire Department provides a national program called "Stop the Bleed." This curriculum features numerous simple methods that most anyone can learn to control traumatic bleeding using simple devices. Life-threatening bleeding can occur due to a car crash, workplace injury, or natural or person-caused event. Having residents that can provide quick bleeding control until our advanced life support (ALS) resources arrive can be life-saving and will help build community resilience.
