Curbside Pickup Rules
Waste Management will not pick up or will sticker any carts that are not completely closed, carts that contain unacceptable items, or if additional trash is in unofficial carts or bags. The Town of Belmont will not send Waste Management back to empty carts if the street has already been serviced, or once they have been stickered. To prevent a missed pickup, carts must be curbside prior to 7 am on your regularly scheduled pickup day. If your trash or recycling was not picked up please leave your bins at the curb and notify the DPW office at 617-993-2680 no later than noon the next business day. Messages can be left on the DPW voicemail after business hours.
Reminder: Trash and Recycling carts must be curbside prior to 7 am on your regularly scheduled pick-up day. The lid must be completely shut. Emptied carts must be removed from the curb within 24 hours.
Missed Trash and Recycling
If your trash, recycling, or yard waste is missed on your regular pickup day, please leave it at the curb and notify the DPW at 617-993-2680. We attempt to get the missed pickups recovered ASAP- if it is not at the curb when the trucks come by to recover, we can't guarantee it can be picked up.
Due to road work, truck breakdowns, or other complications, whole streets or sections of town will sometimes be missed for trash, recycle, or yard waste. Below is a list of streets we are aware have been missed, and the estimated recovery time.
